today

well. not having a great day today. I was going for a new position and found that I didn't get it. hmmm... can't say I'm happy about this and am doing my best to not let it negatively effect me.

my best is to use this as a lesson. not an easy thing to do, but, I will do it.

chop wood, carry water....... right :)

Taking Precepts

So I spent last weekend at Hsi Lai temple, Friday afternoon through Sunday, for the Bodhisattva Precepts ceremony. I had been thinking about this for a long time and decided that I would go ahead with it now. In a nutshell, you can say I vowed to live my life for others. At first I thought, well, ya, I can do this, I do live for my wife and son, so that is part of the Bodhisattva path. But then, the more I thought about it, the less I could see it honestly being any different from being on the Buddhist path for my life.....

this is really sad. I saw a story on the news a while back about this little girl and was completely amazed. What a wonderful little person. I'm sure the world will miss her.
