Shoes with Souls

So I just ordered new shoes online. Only done that once before, but that was for hiking boots. Hopefully these work out well. I really liked the company's outlook:

"At Shoes With Souls, we strive to support our founders' and customers' core belief that respecting animals and the environment by not wearing products that are harmful to these interests is the very essence of what it means to be "fashionable".

All Deja and Daya products are 100% Vegan. There are no animal derived components used in any of our footwear. The upper material is state-of-the-art microfiber which is engineered to look, feel, and perform EXACTLY like animal derived leather. You can rest assured "NO ANIMAL HAD TO DIE TO MAKE YOU LOOK THIS GOOD." "

Interfaith coalition unveils public school Bible course

http://www.cnn.com/2005/EDUCATION/09/22/bible.textbook.ap/index.html

WTF???

The U.S. Supreme Court's 1963 decision barring schoolroom Bible recitations said that "the Bible is worthy of study for its literary and historic qualities" if "presented objectively as part of a secular program of education."

Ok, I can respect that, but, if you are going to teach one, you need to teach all religions. If you use the book in a PUBLIC school, you need to use it in a class that teaches properly. NOT a bible class. If they were to start a 'world religions' class of some sort - MAYBE that could be considered. But, having a bible based class in PUBLIC schools is NOT ok.

Ananova - Artists erect giant pink bunny on mountain

"Viennese art group Gelatin designed the giant soft toy and say it was "knitted by dozens of grannies out of pink wool"."

Something about a massive pink bunny on the side of an Italian mountain is seriously interesting to me.

New Orleans - clawhammer

Just not sure how I feel about this one. When my friend sent it to me he titled it 'lightheartedness'. Not positive I agree the threat of a hammer upside the head is 'lightheartedness'. My best wishes to all involved in the disaster.

take care.

gave blood today

i gave blood today... don't know why more people don't do it - so useful and such a small impact on a person.

guess i enjoy it. went and got thai food afterwards. good stuff

happy friday

happy three day weekend friday. then it's a 2 day work week.

damn i'm tired.

watching radiohead's 'meeting people is easy'. ethan stated it's brilliance when i asked about it. the film is quite interesting. strange. fitting for the music. people seem to be such an a bother to them.
they do impress me.
those most fans will tell you the 'early stuff is better'
...i disagree.

they
get better
with

age....

yes, the formatting on this post is f****d... that seemed appropirate for talking about radiohead as well.

I like the randomness of their music. guess thats the best way to describe it. and the melancholy of it.
